Shiv Kapur T2 at Foshan

Kapur is the birdie man even as Nacho Elvira claims title

Nacho Elvira claimed his maiden Challenge Tour title with a one stroke victory in The Foshan Open to leap from 50th into the top 15 of the Challenge Tour Rankings as the season heads towards its climax.

India’s Shiv Kapur was T2 and could well be termed the Birdies Man for the tournament scoring several back to back birdies in all rounds. Kapur was in the leader mix from the very start of the tournament and once he picked up pace on day two, he stuck around holding his game and his shots. With two middle rounds of 68 each Kapur made a firm centre to hold his overall scoring which didn’t waiver on the final day either. He kicked off the final round with a bogey and finished with the same but most of the fourth day his luck was on his side as he maintained pars or picked up birdies on 4th,5th and later in the back nine on 12th, 15th and 16th.
