February 24, 2014: After an exciting finish at the Willingdon Sports Club, the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour moves to the Bombay Presidency Golf Club (BPGC), as it prepares to play host to the fourth leg of the season. The third leg saw veteran golfer Smriti Mehra clinch her first title of the season, overcoming a strong challenge from Vani Kapoor, winner of the first two legs.

The BPGC is expected to see another face-off between Smriti and Vani, who have been the most consistent golfers so far. Vani has won two titles and finished second in one, whereas Smriti has won one and was runner up in another. Hero MotoCorp sponsored Sharmila Nicollet, the youngest Indian to qualify for the LET, will have an uphill task as she tries to return to form in an otherwise ordinary season so far. She has been showing glimpses of her golfing prowess but has lacked consistency.

Another player who has had a very ordinary season is Kolkata golfer Neha Tripathi. The winner of last year’s Hero Order of Merit is going through a very lean patch and will be desperately looking for a much improved performance at the BPGC. Shweta Gallande and Pallavi Jain have managed to impress time and again and it will be interesting to see if they manage to give Smriti, Vani, Sharmila and Neha a tough fight in the fourth leg.

Priya Puri, Mehgna Bal, Mita Gowande, Preetinder Kaur, Nikki Ponappa, Vandana Agarwal, Saaniya Sharma and Ankita Tiwana will complete the field.
