August 31, 2013. Indian golfer SSP Chowrasia carded a 75 in the third round of the ISPS Handa Wales Open at the Celtic Manor resort. With a four over 217, he was tied 49th.

Chowrasia started with a birdie on the first tee but two successive bogies on the following holes proved to be a setback. Despite one other odd birdie in the round, a double bogey 6 on the eighth hole hurt.

SSP Chowrasia was the lone Indian golfer to make the cut at the ISPS Handa Wales Open after Jeev Milkha Singh and Shiv Kapur fell by the wayside at the halfway mark of the tournament here. Chowrasia is a two-time winner on European Tour but winless since 2011.

America’s Peter Uihlein assumed control of the ISPS Handa Wales Open after an enthralling third round at The Celtic Manor Resort.

Uihlein, who won the Madeira Islands Open earlier this year, caught fire around the turn and overcome some late sloppiness to end with a commanding lead.

Having produced two birdies and as many bogeys over the first eight holes, he moved into the lead via an eagle at nine following a stunning long iron to nine feet.

Not content, he birdied the next by holing a 50-footer before picking up a further gain at 14 following an excellent approach.
