February 07, 2016: Aditi Ashok ended her first week as a professional with a steady round of one over 74 at the Oates Victorian Open. Playing on the Beach Course, the young Indian produced three birdies and four bogeys in the final round of this Australian Ladies Professional Golf event in Victoria. Georgia Hall, Nanna Madsen and Marianne Skarpnord were indulging in a battle to the wire to decide the winner.

Aditi has been tremendous this week, not only emerging the best Indian this week, but competing with a strong field of internationals to make a mark for herself among the big women.

Amadeep Drall fell out from the sieve at the end of the second round, making 79 and 74 for a 7-over 153 in 36 holes. Vani Kapoor played brilliant golf on Friday for a one under 72, but 79-72-73 was not enough to get her past the third round cut.

Aditi made fifteen bogeys and eleven birdies overall in her 72 holes this week – 54 on the Beach Course and 18 on the Creek Course, where she suffered her worst round of 77 at this event. She made 74-71-74 in her three rounds on the Beach Course.

19 year old Georgia Hall has been showing the way this week and Aditi will have benefited from being on the same course at a time when another teenager has been doing so well.

The Brit took a one shot lead into the final round over Skorpnord and Madsen, with the three locked in a fierce battle for victory over the finishing stretch of the tournament.

Hall could not get a move on through the first nine holes – carding a pair of bogeys and birdies to make the turn without damage in an even 36 shots.

Skorpnord made her third eagle of the week, this time at the par-5 second hole to gain a share of the lead, but a bogey at the sixth dropped her back into second place.

At the time of this report, Hall and Skorpnord were separated by just one shot after making par at the 10th hole. Madsen was a further shot back at 7-under through 12 holes.
