Golfer Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under influence. He is currently nursing his back surgery. Tiger Woods was arrested early on Memorial Day on suspicion of driving under the influence in Florida, according to police reports.

According to CNN, Woods was arrested around 3 a.m. Monday in Jupiter, Florida. The area police spokeswoman Kristin Rightler said he was booked into a local jail and released on his own recognizance with no bond a few hours later.

It’s unclear whether Woods tested positive for alcohol or drugs said the reports. It’s also unknown at this time whether Woods was the only person in the vehicle. An arrest report was not immediately available on Monday.

The 14-time major champion has not played since withdrawing from the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in February.

Ongoing back problems have sidelined his career for much of the last three years.

He wrote that the surgery had relieved terrible pain and that he hadn’t “felt this good in years”. He said the outlook for a return to competitive golf was “positive” but that he was not in a “hurry”. “I want to play professional golf again but I’m not looking ahead,” he said. “I can’t twist for another two and a half to three months. Right now, my sole focus is rehab and doing what the doctors tell me. I am concentrating on short-term goals.”

For many who have tracked his career and fandom know he has had his set of troubles since admitting to infidelity a few years ago. Nonetheless, there were signs that things have been on the bend and Tiger Woods is finally out of his worst. No idea where the next few days on this story will head. However, one thing’s for sure – none of his fans want to see a picture like this to tar his legacy. The question though remains: What’s Tiger doing about this?
