Tiger Woods in Delhi?

January 30, 2014:  The World No. 1 golfer, Tiger Woods is likely to make his first trip to India early next week. Delhi Golf Club sources revealed that Woods will be flying to Delhi immediately after the 25th edition of Omega Dubai Masters get over on February 2.

 

The 38-year-old will be in Delhi for a corporate exhibition. He is likely to tee at DGC in company of some of the top corporate figures associated with Indian golf at this private event. Hero Motocorp’s Pavan Munjal is one of those exclusive guests, who are likely to play with Woods.

 

“So far, this is on cards. Only conditional acceptance have come through, however I will be able to confirm this in next couple of days,” IVS Juneja, President Delhi Golf Club told media.

 

The event  is purely a private affair. Which  Indian golfers will tee with woods has not been made public.  It has not been confirmed whether members will be made privy to the event. Media too has been kept out of bounds.

 

The 14 time Major winner is one of the most sought after golfer in the world and his presence at DGC is likely to call huge public attention. Sources reveal that DGC has already started preparation for the likely event.

 

Woods will be arriving by his private jet along with his caddy and personal staff. He will only spend few hours at the Indian capital.

 

Woods, who is also a two -time champion at the Dubai Masters in 2006 and 2008, will be chasing a hat-trick in Emirates right now  t its 25th anniversary event.
