It was a tough Sunday to be in the final group on Sunday. And to be there for the first time in her Ladies European Tour career made it even heavier for Tvesa Malik. In the end the Indian settled for T10 with a fighting 75, her first on European soil. It was a terrific result for Tvesa, who was also T20 at the Czech Ladies Open a few weeks ago. Julia Engstrom threatened to run away at the top but after being two-under through nine holes, the course extracted three bogeys from her. She won an edgy battle for a one-stroke victory over Magdalena Simmermacher and Celine Herbin to take the title.

The Swede ended the week at 7-under 206, built largely on a brilliant 64 in the penultimate round. On Sunday she conceded four nervous bogeys as she held on to clinch victory by the narrowest margin.

Argentine Simmermacher threatened to ambush her way to victory, but a stupendous final round 66 was only enough for a tie in second with local golfer Herbin. The two women closed out at 6-under for the week.

Tvesa began her day at four-under, only four back from the leader. But after three pars to start the day, she suffered three bogeys in four holes to see her chances of victory dissipate into the thick air at the scenic course.

Playing with great determination, Tvesa made nine straight pars. But a bogey on the 17th dropped her to even for the week. She made 70 and 68 in the first two rounds.

Florentyna Parker made an elegant 69, just as Herbin. The Englishwoman finished in fourth, two-strokes behind Simmermacher and Herbin. Behind Parker, was the Australian Stephanie Kyriacou, who made 68 for a 3-under total of 210.

The LET has two more events on its calendar – the Omega Dubai Moonlight Classic in the first week of November followed by the Andalucia Open De Espana starting on 26 November.
