November 8, 2013. Millie Saroha showed why she is currently placed third on the Indian Golf Union (IGU) Amateur Ladies Tour Order of Merit list 2013, returning a card of one over 71 to surge four shots clear of the field, going into the final day of the USHA West Bengal Ladies & Junior Girls Amateur Championship 2013. The tournament is being played at Kolkata’s Tollygunge Golf Club (TGC) course over three days and 54 holes. Three golfers are currently in a tie for second place. Gauri Monga, a former IGU Ladies Tour winner, Ridhima Dilawari, currently ranked seventh on the merit list and Seher Atwal, another seasoned amateur, all finished day two with a combined score of 150 to setup an intriguing final day.

Amandeep Drall, the overnight leader had a forgettable day, carding an astonishing 13 over 83, to end up in sixth position with a score of 154. Millie, who had registered a 75 (five over par) on day one, improved her consistency on day two, on a course that has pushed the ladies to their limits. This was evident by the fact that no sub-par rounds have been registered yet.

Amrita Anand (153) and Dolma Rawat (161) were the top two in the Category B section while Ananya Barthakur (171) topped Category C trailed by Khushi Nehra (173). Millie was also the leader of the Category A section with Ridhima and Seher in joint second position.

Going by past evidence, the title is still very much in the balance and the way the course is playing, one sub-par round could make all the difference.
