June 22, 2016: Vani Kapoor continued her dominant run with another round under par. The top ranked Indian golfer shot one under 70 at Clover Greens to take a two shot lead into the second round. Amandeep Drall shot one over 72 to occupy second spot.

Afshan Fatima, Shweta Galande and Gauri Monga are all tied in third, a further shot behind Amandeep.

Vani was three under through the first eight holes, looking set for a commanding round of golf. But a bogey at the ninth hole slowed her down just as she made the turn.

The 22 year old recouped the lost shot with a birdie at the 545yard par-5 12th hole, marching through the back nine in a real hurry.

With only three holes left to play, Vani was sitting pretty at three under. But she surrendered consecutive shots at the 16th and 17th holes to end the day just one under.

Vani was the only player under par on Wednesday. Amandeep made three birdies, but also conceded four bogeys to end the day over par, two off the pace.

A double bogey at the par-5 second hole proved to be the problem for Fatima, who ended the day with a 73. Her round also contained three other bogeys offset by three birdies.

Gauri needed 41 strokes to come through the first nine holes, but made a solid recovery from there. She kept her sheet clean through the second nine, taking just 32 strokes to get to the clubhouse.

Shweta Galande also had a similar day to Gauri. She took 39 strokes for the front nine, before getting through the second nine in just 34 shots.

Sharmila Nicollet was back from Europe to play in Bengaluru this week. Nicollet had missed the cut in the Tipsport Golf Masters in the Czech Republic last week.

She is lying tied in ninth with Gursimar Badwal after the two of them shot 77 in the first round.
