Srinagar, 23rd June 2014: With 4 victories and 2 runners up finishes, Delhi golfer Vani Kapoor has emerged as the player to beat this season. The young golfer is currently leading the Hero Order of Merit and looks very comfortable at the top with total earnings of INR 6,49,000. The INR 7,00,000 event of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2014 will be played at the stunning and breath taking Royal Springs Golf Course in Srinagar from the 24th – 26th of June 2014.

Vani, who edged past Smriti Mehra in leg 6 will face tough competition from the veteran golfer. Smriti is currently placed second in the Hero Order of Merit list with total earnings of INR 3,75,000 from five appearances. Smriti, who hasn’t quite taken off this year is struggling with just one win and one runners up position, and would be keen to defend the title she won here last year.

Saaniya Sharma and amateur golfer Tavleen Batra from Chandigarh, who look to be in great form, would definitely look forward to capitalize on their impressive performance in leg 6. Hero MotoCorp sponsored Bengaluru golfer Sharmila Nicolett, who is currently playing on the Ladies European Tour will be giving the seventh leg a miss, as she gets ready for the Ladies Italian Open in Perugia in Italy from the 27th – 29th of June 2014. Sharmila is the youngest Indian to get through to the prestigious Ladies European Tour and the only Indian to retain her European card for two consecutive years.

The seventh leg of the Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2014 will showcase a field of 14 golfers, which includes 12 professionals and 2 amateur golfers from across India. The Royal Springs Golf Course is considered one of the most beautiful golf courses in India. The par 72 course which is undoubtedly one of the most picturesque courses in India, is spread over 300 acres of rolling hills, native deciduous forest, lakes, wilderness and surrounded by the Zabarwan hills and the Dal lake.

The Hero Women’s Professional Golf Tour 2014 comprises a total of fifteen legs spanning across key locations in India.
