Jetlag couldn’t stop Anirban Lahiri from posting a strong performance at the CareerGuide Challenge. Here’s his interview right after the tournament.

Anirban Lahiri shot 64 at La Quinta Country Club. Anirban Lahiri flew to the California desert from Malaysia, where he represented Asia in last week’s Eurasia Cup.

Lahiri showed no signs of jet lag. This is his first time leading after any round on the PGA TOUR.

Lahiri is used to the travel. Last year, he competed on the PGA TOUR, Web.com Tour, European Tour and Asian Tour. He earned his PGA TOUR card for this season via the Web.com Tour Finals, which he competed in before representing the International Team in last year’s Presidents Cup.

Lahiri was bogey-free Thursday at La Quinta Country Club.

“I was a bit unsure of how it was going to go today, obviously still feeling all the travel from Asia last week,” Lahiri said. “But I’m really happy with the way I hit the ball.”

He hit all 18 greens in regulation. His best finish in 18 PGA TOUR starts is a T5 at last year’s PGA Championship.
