October 04, 2015: Anirban Lahiri is all set to earn his PGA TOUR card when the Web.com Finals list is prepared at the end of the Web.com Tour Championship later tonight. The four event series comes to an end at the TPC Sawgrass – Dye’s Valley in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. At the end of it all, 25 men will earn the right to play on the PGA TOUR next season and Lahiri is a near certainty on that list.

The Indian golfer is currently lying 16th on the Web.com TOUR Finals list with an earnings of $49,500 from the two events that he played in September. Lahiri is already in Korea preparing for the Presidents Cup with is international team mates.

The 39th ranked golfer decided that he had done enough at the end of two events to secure his card. With the average 25th spot over the past two years falling around the middle section of the 30k earnings, Lahiri had good reason to make a confident decision.

If that is how it turns out to be Sunday evening in Florida, Anirban will become only the second Indian golfer to earn a PGA TOUR card after Arjun Atwal.

The current projections for the Finals list of 25 estimates that 25th spot this season may go to Brian Davis at $33,702 (if he holds his current position on the leaderboard) – a figure much lower than Anirban’s earnings from the first two events.
Lahiri finished T6 at the Hotel Fitness Championship and followed it up with a T16 at the Small Business Connection Championship to account for his position on the Web.com TOUR Finals.

The top 25 golfers at the end of the Web.com TOUR Finals earn a card for the PGA TOUR next season. Having done enough from the first two events, Anirban discussed the situation with his team before heading to Korea for the Presidents Cup.

The team event between USA and an International team will be played later this week.
