World Cup: All eyes on Jason Day

November 23, 2013. Australia’s Jason Day had his target set for the weekend as he carded a round of 66 to enter final round of ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf on Saturday.

 

Day climbed to the top of the World Cup of Golf  leader board with a 6-under 66 in the third round at Royal Melbourne. He also pulled his team along to lead position with a total sccore of 415.

 

Day left 36-hole leader Thomas Bjorn (71) on the back nine, with birdies on Nos. 13, 15 and 17. He also saved par on the 18th — this after lagging a 50-footer to 5 feet and making it to post 9 under.

 

Matt Kuchar of the United States carded a 68 and is within three shots of the lead at 6 under. Italy’s Francesco Molinari tied Day’s 66 for the best round of the day and was fourth at 5 under.

 

Behind Day and Adam Scott (68), Australia jumped in front in the team standings at 11 under, taking a one-shot leader over the U.S.

 

While, Indians carried on with their disappointing run as Anirban Lahiri slipped to 27th position after cading a roung of 73. Gaganjeet Bhullar could not live up to the expectation after ending his Saturday’s round with a 76 to remain at the bottom of the leader board.
