July 01, 2016: Chiragh Kumar shot up thirteen spots on the leaderboard with a solid 69 in the second round of Yeangder Tournament Players Championship. Indian golfers played well at the Linkou International Golf and Country Club in Taipei with everyone but Khalin Joshi making the cut at the $500,000 Asian Tour event. Namchok Tantipokhakul shot 70 in the second round, to 67 by Scott Barr for a share of the lead.

Chiragh has been in good form recently and a spotless effort on Friday helped him get within five strokes off the leading pace. He made birdies at the 6th and back to back at the 15th and 16th to move into a tie for eleventh place.

Chiragh made 12 of 14 fairways and 13 of 18 greens in regulation for a fluent march around the course. Himmat Rai added a 71 to his first round 70 to slip out of the top 30. Himmat made two birdies and a bogey at the ninth in the second round.

Rahil Gangjee made a massive 36 spot adjustment, climbing to T31 from overnight 67th position. Rahil shot 68 to end the day aligned with Himmat at 3-under 141.

Rahil was in serious risk of missing the cut. But he produced a brilliant effort under pressure to work his way upwards. He made birdies to start both halves of his round – at the first and tenth holes. He added two other birdies, back to back at the 16th and 17th holes to sign off in style.

Chikkarangappa is also keeping the two men company after he made scores of 71 and 70 in the two rounds so far. Gaganjeet Bhullar is one shot further back, T52 at 2-under 142.
