Aditi Ashok slipped three shots back after a 73 in the second round of the Gold Coast Challenge. Prima Thammaraks and Pannarat Thanapolboonyar are in the lead at 6-under 140.

April 03, 2017: Aditi Ashok finished T42 in her first ever major tournament, the ANA Inspiration. The 19 year old Indian had an opportunity to finish higher, but a stuttering start to her final round compromised her chances. In the end though, Aditi displayed plenty of resilience and courage to play another brave round of golf to finish an even 288 for the week. So Yeon Ryu were locked in a 18th hole playoff after a four stroke penalty drew Lexi Thompson back on a dramatic final day in Rancho Mirage. In the end So Yeon Ryu won the playoff to take the title.

Aditi got off to a brutal start – suffering bogeys in three of the first four holes. She dipped over par by the seventh hole, where she made another bogey.

In typical style, Aditi bounced back with birdies at 9, 10 and 14 to claw her way back to two under par. But back to back bogeys at the 16th and 17th forced Aditi back to even par.

She ended her week with a par at the 18th hole. Her card read three over 75, but it barely did any justice to her spirit and courage.

Aditi produced 72-69-72 in her three other rounds this week.

Meanwhile, Lexi Thompson was dealing a mid-round decision that left the golf world stunned into disbelief. It was obvious Lexi had made an error placing the ball back on the green, but the infraction happened in the third round and officials failed to notice.

But an over eager viewer at home with access to officialdom decided to call in and LPGA was forced into action. They gave Lexi a two shot penalty for the error and two more for signing the wrong score.

Excitement reached fever pitch as four women tied for the lead on the final stretch. Lexi showed great character and discipline to birdie two of three holes immediately after learning of her penalty to take a one stroke lead.

But a bogey at the 16th for Lexi and a final hole birdie for So Yeon helped create the playoff for the title.
