April 24, 2015: On a difficult day for scoring at the Tomson Shanghai Pudong Golf Club, Shiv Kapur did his best to hold ground after shooting an even par 72 in the second round. The Indian golfer made an even number of birdies and bogeys on Friday as the Volvo China Open reached the halfway mark with Kapur lying T15 with six others.

The world No.278 got to 3-under when he made a birdie at the par-3 third hole, but surrendered one immediately when he made five at the next hole.

Kapur held his own against an unforgiving set up on the day, when he made five straight pars to ensure that he made the turn without any damage in the round.

Having made birdies at the 11th and 14th holes, Kapur was sitting pretty at 4-under with only four holes left to play. Unfortunately for the Indian, the course extracted both shots back by forcing consecutive bogeys at the tail end of his round.

The only other Indian in the fray in Shanghai suffered a second straight 76 to end his week prematurely. Starting on the 10th, Chawrasia gained a shot immediately when he made three at the 404 yard par-4 to start his day on a positive note.

But bogeys came thick and fast from there for the runner-up at the Indian Open. Chawrasia gave away a shot each at the 12th and 15th holes, before losing two more at the 17th, where he made double bogey.

The golfer from Kolkata sought to damage the repair by making a birdie at the 1st hole, but then two straight bogeys immediately from there left him deflated. Another bogey dented his card further, when he surrendered a shot at the 5th hole.

Chawrasia will need to reflect some and try and shed any scars he may have carried forth from the playoff loss at the Indian Open in the days to come. He can draw some positive energy from the fact that he signed off with a birdie at the 18th before heading away to his next destination.
