November 08, 2015: The final day of the Panasonic Open India turned into a tense battle between Siddikur Rahman and Chiragh Kumar, but it was the Indian who prevailed at the end with a strong finish at the Asian Tour event. The 31 year old from Delhi was tied with Siddikur midway through the final round, before drawing away to a three shot victory on the final stretch.

Thaworn Wiratchant shot 69 on Sunday to gain three spots and finish in second with Siddikur. The two men finished the week at 10-under 278, the latter making an even 72 in the final round.

Kumar (67-66-72-70) had laid the foundation of his success during the first two days of the tournament and held steady through the final mile to score a memorable victory at the Delhi Golf Club.

After starting with a bogey at the fifth hole, Chiragh ensured that the turn was made without any damage when he restored parity with a birdie at the par-5 8th hole.

The golfer from Delhi added two more birdies at the 11th and 13th holes to hold off a stiff challenge from his Bangladeshi counterpart. Siddikur was just a solitary shot behind Chiragh as the duo reached the 17th tee box, but slipped over when he surrendered a shot each at the final two holes of the week.

Jyoti Randhawa played outstanding golf on the final day. He suffered an early set back when he conceded bogeys at the 3rd and 7th holes, but after making the turn in 37 shots he evolved into a different golfer.

He made six birdies on the return stretch, including four on the last five holes to gain eight spots and finish in a tie for fourth. It is a good result for him, especially considering his recent quest for confidence.

Shubhankar Sharma, who lost a tense playoff to Chikkarangappa last week, also had a solid finish today. He finished with a clean 69 to join the quintet of golfers who tied for fourth.

Mithun Perera and Namchok Tantipokhakul were the other two men in T4 at 9-under 279.Manav Jaini (68), Shankar Das (69) and Vikrant Chopra (70) rounded off the top ten, finishing in T8 with overall score of 280.

Rashid Khan made three birdies in his last five holes, just enough to help him finish in 11th on the leaderboard with his total reading 281.
