September 21, 2015: Anirban Lahiri is a man on a mission. The young Indian golfer is chasing a PGA Tour card with the single minded focus that characterises his game and discipline. In finishing T16 in the Small Business Connection Championship, Lahiri has grown his Tour Finals earnings to $49,750. Chez Reavie mustered a timely one shot victory to regain his PGA Tour card. Reavie birdied the 18th to finish with a 66 that helped him to an overall total of 15-under 273.

The Indian will play this week to try and solidify his place among the top 25 that earn a card to play on the PGA Tour in 2016. The 27 year old is only playing three of the four events, considering his commitment to play the Presidents Cup in Korea in the first week of October.

Jamie Lovemark, Steve Marino and Emiliano Grillo shot 67, 68 and 72 respectively to tie for second and earn a handsome $74,667 each.

Lahiri shot 71 in the final round for an overall total of 8-under 280 for a T16 finish with four other men. The 40th ranked player got off to a rocking start, making two birdies in the first three holes.

But then he was made to wait for ten holes for his next, which came at the par-3 14th hole. On his way there, he copped a bogey five at the eleventh.

Lahiri also made birdie at the 16th, but a double bogey five at the par-3 18th left him signing on a one under 71 for the final round. But with the average 25th place earnings hovering around the high 30k mark these past two seasons, a good showing this week should seal the card for Lahiri.

Playing a full time professional on the PGA Tour has been one of the big ambitions of the young golfer. Earning his card through the Web.com Tour Finals will also help to reaffirm Anirban’s self belief confidence ahead of his journey to Korea for the Presidents Cup.
