October 29, 2016: Aditi Ashok has been battling the course this week at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club. At the end of the third round of the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia, the 18 year old from Bengaluru was lying outside the top 40, after making two over 73 on Saturday. Shanshan Feng and Anna Nordquist were tied in the lead at 12-under, still on the course at the time of this update.

Aditi Ashok started her day with a bogey at the first hole, but made quick amends with a birdie on the third. She posted six straight pars from there to make the turn in 35 strokes, even for the round.

Aditi Ashok made in ten pars in a row as she continued to show discipline and commitment. She added a birdie at the par-4 14th hole to break the monotony, but mayhem followed soon after.

Aditi Ashok suffered a double bogey at the par-3 15th hole and another bogey at the 17th hole meant that she ended the third round at two over. It is the first over par score this week for Aditi Ashok, which left her with a 36 hole score of 213 on the par-71 course.

Leader Shanshan Feng had played 17 holes before play was suspended for the day. Feng trailed Amy Yang by one entering the third round at 6-under par. She holds the outright lead at 13-under par with one hole to play when the resume action tomorrow morning.

“I didn’t set any goals coming into this week, but I know that recently I’ve been playing pretty well,” Feng said. “Every week, I know that I actually get pretty close of winning. So this week, I know that my record here is really good in Malaysia and I’ve won here before. Finished second last year. So coming back here, I’ve had so many good memories that I’m really relaxed and really enjoying the week. Of course, I think that really helps me to bring out my A Game.”

Round three was suspended Saturday evening at 6:50 pm due to darkness. Play will resume at 7:15 am on Sunday morning. Players will go off both the first and 10th tee’s for the final round which will begin at approximately 7:44 am.

Defending champ Jessica Korda (67) moved up the leaderboard sits in a tie for 8th alongside six others.
