Amardip stuttered on Saturday, but survived bleeding six shots to retain a two shot advantage

December 19, 2015: Amardip Sinh Malik was spotless through the first two rounds of the Tata Open in Jamshedpur. After posting two straight bogey free rounds, he stumbled early on Saturday. But despite making four bogeys in the first seven holes of the third round, Malik hung on to make 70 and gain a two shot lead over four golfers tied in second at 11-under 202. (Latest Golf News)

Honey Baisoya has been living on a swing this week. He swung into action with a 64 on Thursday before sliding down the order with an ugly 75 in the second round. He fought back with venom on Saturday, firing a brilliant 64 to work his way back into contention.

Baisoya is 10-under 211, with the help of seven birdies in the third round – five of these came on the return stretch as he raced to the clubhouse in just 31 shots.

Amardip was 2-over through the front nine, but drew even with back to back birdies at the 10th and 11th holes. A double bogey six at the twelfth hole set him back again, but three birdies over the next four holes helped him dip under for the round and stay in front.

Vikrant Chopra shot 67, his card tarnished by a lone bogey at the par-5 16th hole. Mukesh Kumar and Angad Cheema also made 67 as they got into that huddle for second behind Malik. C Muniyappa was two over through eleven holes, but worked his way back through four birdies on the final stretch to join in T2.

Sujjan Singh (68) and Vinod Kumar (72) were both tied in sixth with Baisoya. Kumar was three over through ten holes, but fought hard from there to recover some lost ground with two birdies on the return stretch.

First round leader Abhishek Jha suffered an untimely slip to ninth after he made a 73 in the third round. But with only four shots separating these nine men, we are set for an intriguing final round on Sunday.
