January 6,2013: It seems the year 2014 has started on a ‘ringing’ note for golfers across the world. North Irish Rory McIlroy set the trend on the day one of the new year, pronouncing the confirmation of his much speculated love life with an engagement stamp on it – a nice solid rock for girl friend and tennis star Caroline Wozniacki. And now it’s our own homegrown reigning golfer Anirban Lahiri who has decided to get hooked and booked.
The most eligible bachelor of Indian circuit, Anirban Lahiri followed suit by affirming his dedication to his long – time girlfriend Ipsa Jamwal with a formal engagement on Sunday.
The engagement ceremony was held in traditional Bengali style (since Anirban is of a Bengali Origin) in the presence of family and close friends.
Jammu girl Ipsa Jamwal works as Assistant Manager, marketing communication at Wipro. Alumuni of Symbiosis Pune, Ipsa lives and works in Bangalore, where Anirban’s family resides.
The 25- year-old, Ipsa too comes from an armed forces background. Duo has been hanging around together for some time, and now they are set for a special tee off in 2014.
A management post graduate, Ipsa seems to have developed some fascination for golf, which her beau masters in. She is a close follower of the region’s premier Asian Tour where Anirban is ranked fifth in the Order of Merit.
