May 22, 2015: Anirban Lahiri and Jeev Milkha Singh shot a second straight 72 to remain even with the course inside the Wentworth Club. The two Indians ensured their presence for the weekend by finishing at an even 144 after two rounds of the BMW PGA Championship.
Both Shiv Kapur and SSP Chawrasia were grappling with survival at 2 and 4 over respectively at the time of this report.
On an eventful second day, Lahiri was teasing the cut line when he started his day with a pair of bogeys at the first two holes. Though he made birdie at the par-5 fourth hole, another surrendered shot at the ninth meant that the ace Indian golfer had taken 37 shots to get past the frontal stretch.
In recent times, Anirban has shown remarkable poise and calm under duress. He did that yet again to work his way back to even terms with back to back birdies at 13 and 14 to draw away from the cut line.
Another couple of quick birdies were sandwiched between bogeys at the 15th and 18th as Lahiri signed off on a 72 for a second day running.
With Francesco Molinari (65-69) at 10-under setting the standard at this European Tour flagship event, Lahiri is lying outside the top 50, leaving himself plenty of work over the weekend to give his card some meaning on Sunday.
Jeev Milkha was a stupendous 3-under through seven holes after he made four birdies and a bogey to begin his second round. But a double bogey at the 8th and another bogey at the ninth saw Jeev turn in an even 35 shots.
As he continued to attack the pins, Jeev made bogey-birdie twice over from the eleventh hole, but finished with four straight pars to complete his round at 72 and go into the weekend right alongside his compatriot Lahiri.
At the time of this report, Shiv Kapur was 2-over through 15 holes and Chawrasia was four over through 17 holes.
