Catch Them Young: Kensville Junior Challenge

‘Kensville Junior Challenge’ an initiative to nurture and train the junior golfers in the country, will kick off from 25th of June.

June 25, 2017: Kensville Golf and Country Club, India’s premier golf course is all set to throw a spotlight on all the budding junior golfers of Gujarat with the June 2017 chapter of Kensville Junior Challenge Kensville’s latest offering of a year round golfing tournament series.

The Kensville Junior Challenge series, a calendar event conceptualized by Siddhartha Naik and Brijesh Patel, will be launched under the sanction of the Indian Golf Union. Scheduled to begin from the 25th June at the Kensville Golf & Country Club, the event will be open to all junior golf enthusiasts of Gujarat.

“The twofold objective in conceptualizing this tournament is to not only encourage juniors to take up the game professionally but also to provide them opportunities to challenge themselves round the year through competitive golf tournament. We want to encourage the youth to pursue golf as a career by providing a self sufficient sports ecosystem in the state. Kensville aims to nurture the competitive sportsman spirit among golfers by conducting a continuously engaging challenge for them throughout the year by the means of Kensville Junior Challenge,” shared Sameer Sinha, Director, Kensville Golf and Country Club.

The tournament, which will be played every even month of the year till December 2018, will test the mettle of participants on the basis of points accumulated throughout individual chapters till December 2017 and rank every participant accordingly. Participating juniors will be categorized into A, B, C, D, E, and F, on the basis of their age groups.

“Nearly 45 boys and girls from the age group of 5 to 17 from Mumbai, Pune, Bharuch, Baroda and Rajkot have already registered for a chance to display their best teeing shots at the inaugural June Event of Kensville Junior Challenge. The D.G of the Indian Golf Union will be the Guest Of Honor for the day for the June chapter. Kensville shall conduct a rules and etiquette clinic for the participants to acquaint them with the professional rules” said Brijesh Patel, Co-Founder, Kensville Junior Challenge.

Wg Cdr A K Singh, Director General, The Indian Golf Union will be doing the prize distribution for the opening event.

The Kensville Junior Challenge is supported by the Savvy Group, the Golfing Indian, Golf Plus and Zaverchand Sports.
