John F Kennedy

He sailed, swam, played tennis and even loved golf. He has his owned signatured golf balls and wore bright trousers to play the game. Not long ago a video was put out on American channels that show the Kennedys on vacation. This 50 year old clip puts the spotlight on JFK’s golf skills. Journalist Charlie Rose reportedly suggested that Kennedy was “probably the best presidential golfer.”

Bill Clinton

He was unapologetic about ‘enjoying’ the game. The former US President would let people sort out their shots if they made a poor putt. And in return take mulligans himself. “My mulligans are way overrated,” the president said in an interview with Golf Digest, in which he explained his mulligan philosophy and said he loves the game because it brings him closer “to being a normal person.” On another occasion he reportedly said at a journalist briefing, “One of my great dreams in life is to do an interview with Feherty. He’s one of the funniest men alive.” The reference was to David Feherty, the CBS and Golf Channel commentator

George Bush

He has been calling his game mediocre of late. “I also shot a 77 at Augusta one time,” he added, referring to Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia where the Masters is held as per this report. Bush was often seen with his father and brother playing golf. According to GolfAdvisor.com, he played to a 15-handicap before giving up golf at the outbreak of the Second Iraq War.

Barack Obama

As per the latest figures reported by CBS, Obama played around 55 round of golf in 2015. He is the White House’s first left-hander to play golf. His games were politically crafted given how many photo-ops and discussions he produced on the course. From golfing with former US President Bill Clinton to John Boehner. Sometimes these games have been for discussing key political developments and others, clearly for sending photographers in a clicking tizzy.
