October 23, 2013 The defending champion Shamim Khan will lead the young and experienced Indian golfers at one of the most lucrative challenge on the domestic circuit of PGTI, as Rs 1 crore BILT Open returns to Jaypee Greens after two years.

 

Seasoned Jeev Milkha Singh and Arjun Atwal will be seen in action long with former winners Jyoti Randhwa and Chirag Kumar when a star-studded line-up of players tee off at the Jaypee Greens Golf Resort.

 

The notable golfer list includes Rahil Gangjee, SSP Chowrasia, Rashid Khan and Himmat Singh Rai, along with Anirban Lahiri, who finished second at Macau Open last week, and rising golfer S Chikkaangappa from Bangalore.

Shamim, who made five top-10 finishes and won the Classic Golf Resort in Haryana, is focused on his game and said he will battle the course and not think about the list of illustrious competitors.

 

“I will play against the course. I don’t think about others in the field. I had a decent season and I will go with my strategy and hope to do well,” said titleholder Shamim, who had edged out Rashid Khan in an enthralling play-off at the Delhi Golf course last year.

 

Indian golfers will be vying to make best on this domestic tour event.

 

“I would look to score five-under everyday. That would be my target. I think it is achievable in this course. I know what I have to do and I want to stick to that,” said in-form Rahil Gangjee.
