India Golf Expo 2015 seeks to lend momentum to growth of golf in the country

April 15, 2015: India is clearly warming up to the pleasures of golf. In yet another positive development for a space that is quickly evolving into a fast growing industry, the India Golf Expo 2015 is seeking to underline the promise of a bright future for the game in India. The Indian Golf Industry Association (IGIA) is hosting a grand mela which has brought together individuals and entities that work in golf development, golf management, golf tourism and marketing and promotion on one platform at a two day trade show in New Delhi.

 

The IGIA and the Indian Golf Union have also collaborated this week, to conduct a seminar on turf care for golf superintendents. The IGE 2015 reporting enthusiastic participation from a broad spectrum of golf related bodies on the first day of the trade fair. The expo runs for two days starting from Wednesday.

 

 

With the active involvement of the Indian Golf Union (IGU), IGIA, Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), National Golf Academy of India (NGAI) and Indian Golf Tourism Association (IGTA), the two day event is expected to lay out an agenda for the development and increased penetration of the game in India.

 

The association of eminent industry bodies such as CREDAI, FICCI and the Ministry of Tourism are lending an added dose of credibility to the much anticipated event.

 

Experts and coaches from India and overseas are also at the event, attending the NGAI Teaching Summit which is being held concurrently with IGE 2015. Vijay Divecha, Jesse Grewal, Indrajit Bhalotia, Nonita Lall Qureshi, Amandeep Singh Johl and Romit Bose are among several top level coaches attending the event.

 

Michael Hebron, Donato Di Ponziano and Alex Riggs are in attendance too, providing the event much needed international colours. Another prominent events is the Turf Care Seminar held by one of the most renowned global experts on grass – Dr. Micah Woods.
