March 12, 2014: India’s Shiv Kapur and Gaganjeet Bhullar will appear in their seventh European Tour event in Trophée Hassan II, which begins at the Golf Du Palais Royale in Agadir, Morocco this Thursday.

Playing his first full card on the European Tour, Gaganjeet has made cut in five out of six tour events so far. Five-time Asian tour champion kicked off his European Tour season with a tied 10th finish in first even of desert swing, Abu Dhabi Golf Championship. The 26-year old ended tied 22 in the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Even though, he missed cut in the Dubai Desert Classic, he bounced back in Joburg Open, Africa Open and Tshwane Open with decent performance. Bhullar would certainly aim for better act in Morocco.

Two-time Challenge tour winner, Shiv Kapur is also playing his seventh event on the European Tour this season. Coming from his 15th place finish in Tshwane Open, Kapur has missed the cut only once in last six events. It would be good opportunity for the 32-year Indian to strike back at Agadir in the Trophée Hassan II.

While, defending champion Marcel Siem is being warmed up for the defence of Trophée Hassan II title. The German is hoping to reel in another victory when the €1.5million tournament that takes place in Agadir, Morocco.

A strong international field, including in-form Englishman Ross Fisher and 2008 Harry Vardon Trophy winner Robert Karlsson, should be a challenge for Siem in this week’s Trophée Hassan II.

However, it is also true that since the tournament joined The European Tour International Schedule in 2010, nobody has successfully defended the Trophée Hassan II title; it should be a tough call for Siem too.

The Trophée Hasan II, which was first played in 1971, is Morocco’s longest running sporting event. The tournament is steeped in history, with no fewer than nine Major Champions lifting the trophy: Orville Moody (1971), Billy Casper (1973, 75), Lee Trevino (1977), Vijay Singh (1991), Payne Stewart (1992, 93),

Nick Price (1995), David Toms (1999), Padraig Harrington (2007) and Ernie Els (2008).
