December 27, 2015: A vibrant golfing culture among people is a necessary fuel for sustenance of the game in India. Just as celebrate an enormously successful year around the world, the recently concluded “Western India Inter Club Challenge” was a reminder of the work being done among amateurs. The competition saw 162 golfers in 41 teams from various clubs competing for honours.

The tournament format was “Stable Ford-Double Peoria” and was played between 12th to 20th of December, 2015. The event was a unique experience for golfers of all shades in Ahmedabad, that congregated at the beautiful Gulmohar Resort on the outskirts of the city.

The Double Peoria system helped keep the competition alive to the end, adding to the excitement of the golfers and their families.

In the end the suspense was unbearable for some, with just a solitary point standing between the three team fighting for the prize.

The Winner, Runner Up and 2nd Runner Up teams were finally declared on Sunday, 20th of December during the Prize Announcement event. A special round of “Putting” competition was also held for the spouse of each participant.

The “Teens” represented by Mohnish Shah, Parina Patel, Abhidyu Adukia & Maharshi Patel were 2nd Runner with 69 points

Runner Up was team from “Sports Club” represented by Ragesh Vasa, Aditya Shah, Monesh Mashruwala & Daksh Patel with 70 points.

Winner of the Western India Inter Club Challenge was team from “Kalhaar Blues & Greens Golf Course” represented by Devang Shah, Rajeev Vasa, Parthiv Mehta & Pranav Shah with 71 points.

Naman Malik won the Best Gross Score for the entire tournament, while Sandip Ambalia was adjudged as the Best Etiquette Golfer, Dr. Shiv Prakash won the Best Dressed Golfer.

There were loads of prizes in the “Lucky Draw” during the Prize announcement event to engage the families.

The next tournament is the “Monthly Medal Round” scheduled on 27th of December, 2015, which is going to be the 1st of the 12 Monthly Medal Rounds planned through the 2015-16 season.
