August 15: Highly rated Himmat Rai of India fired a final round one-over-par 71 to win on the Jamega Tour at The Players Club near Bristol in England on Tuesday.

Rai, an Asian Tour winner, carded a winning total of three-under-par 137, which included an opening round of 66 to win his fourth professional title.

The 26-year-old managed to overcome the tough conditions on the final day as he reeled off nine straight pars on the front nine to remain at four-under for the tournament and lead by one.

He moved on to score a birdie on the 12th but dropped bogeys on the 13th and 15th. However, he managed to redeem himself with another birdie on the 17th straight after before making another par on the final 18th to clinch a one-shot victory over local hope James Ruth.
