August 19, 2015: The American sojourn of Indian golfers continued its successful run with a successful pro-am event at the Indian Men’s Golf Club in Seattle. The tour facilitated by the Indo-American Professional Golf Association (IAPGA) is a 45 day journey across the United States.

The tour covers 18 cities in the USA featuring ranked golfers – Ajeetesh Sandhu, Abhijeet Chada, Sujjan Singh, Abhishek Jha, Shubhankar Sharma, Rahul Bajaj, Amardip Malik, Angad Cheema and Shivam Tibrewal are participating on this tour.

The group was in Seattle over the past weekend, celebrating the Independence day with a pro-am tournament at Redmond Ridge. The event also helped bring the community together indulging the amateur golfers to a good weekend on the golf course.

Sawan Deswal, a Microsoft employee in Redmond who started IMGC along with his friends in the area was very pleased with the event. “While IAPGA is set up to support self-funded golfers in India to give them exposure to play in the U.S. and help them qualify for PGA, these pros give back to the local communities who support them, by giving free golf clinics and organizing pro-am tournaments.”

“The tournament brought the South Asian Indian and American community together and drive cross-culture diversity with the amazing game of golf,” he concluded.

The young Indian professionals conducted several clinics over the weekend for both children and adults in the Redmond area. Hundreds of people in the area participated enthusiastically in the clinics, taking useful tips from the golfers.

Gurbaaz Mann of the IAPGA has played a key role in arranging this tour for the Indian golfers aspiring to pursue life on the PGA Tour. “It’s pretty exciting! Arjun has agreed to join us and I am speaking to Daniel Chopra as well,” said Mann. “We know there is a huge network. It is just a matter of connecting.”
