Ishaan Chawhan wins Kensville Junior Challenge

Ishaan Chawhan strikes 79 with a 30-footer putt in playoff with Sawai Bhati to win Category ‘B’ at Kensville Junior Challenge.

August 15, 2017: The Kensville Junior Challenge saw golfer Ishaan Chawhan win with a gross score of 79 in Category B. As Sawai Bhati inched his way closer to seal his victory on the 18th green, Ishaan sunk a 30- footer putt to take him into a playoff and sailed on the big putt and won the playoff on the 18th hole.

Sawai had to be content with a runner-up spot scoring 79, matching Ishaan’s number.

Next, Aryaman Himatsingha carded a gross 84 to win the ‘A category. Mohnish Shah bagged 88 for the runner- up slot. Aditya Tyagi won the ‘C’ category with a score of 85, and Aditya Garg earned a gross score of 91 to assure the runner- up position.

“The Kensville Junior Challenge had all the ingredients to display the best golfing skills by the juniors who have honed their strokes over the years with consistent practice. The excitement was palpable. The tournament was a complete success,” said Brijesh Patel.

Vidish Karbhajane won the ‘D’ category with a score card of 94 and Mitarth Rana was the runner- up scoring 111 points. Aryaman Magotra won the ‘E’ category and was closely followed by Neil Dave claiming the runner- up position. Five year old Devvrat Rajawat won the ‘F’ category grossing 44 while Aarush Shah grabbed the runner- up position with a score of 55 over 9 holes.

Among the girls, Durga Nittur from Banglore played excellent golf to win the ‘A’ category with a total score of 78. Chelsea Thakkar carded 85 for the runner- up slot. Manya Saini won the ‘C’ category scoring 78 and Ananya Garg displayed enough mettle to clock a gross score of 78 to win the ‘D’ category. Saanvi had a gross score of 81 for the runner- up position.  Verushka won the ‘E’ category with 65 points and Naoimi, a 6- year old won the ‘F’ category.
