Whats the Future of Tiger's Game?

August 11, 2014. With Tiger Woods missing the cut in a major for the fourth time of his professional career, the entire golf world is discussing if the former world number one will make it back. Did he comeback from his injury a bit too soon? Is he forcing the game upon his recovery? Does he need a higher and surer level of preparation?

“My view on Tiger is that nobody know the extent of his injury or what he is going through,” shares Shiv Kapur, who finished T25 in the US Open earlier this year. With a new and valuable experience at the Majors, Kapur shares his view on Woods’ ouster from the PGA. “He obviously doesn’t look competitively ready.” And so was it too soon for him to return to playing even before his back injury was properly nursed? Kapur believes that Woods was underprepared. “It was premature to come to the British Open after playing just one event post his surgery.” Kapur, who played an exhibition tournament with Woods in February this year has seen his game at close quarters. “He doesn’t’ look like he is ready and I wont be surprised if he doesn’t play a single event. At Bridgestone, some of his shots were very uncharacteristic.”

With his injury making headlines, some experts are speculating whether all of Woods’ problems are physical. With the Major season in full swing could Woods have hurried his return to be seen there? The 14 time Major winner has never looked so distraught and for someone so accustomed to success, will he accept being in tournaments and not playing stellar golf? Missing the cut in four Majors isn’t a one time issue, it’s a trend. Now the headlines will move to whether Woods will indeed make it to the Ryder Cup squad and importantly if Tom Watson will hand him the wildcard at all.

Even as Woods recovers from his worst Major ever, many keep faith in his ability to return to the game and the experience he carries. “I do believe he win another Major,” asserts Shiv.
