Round 2, Hero Indian Open 2015

14:30 We are off to the course now get you some shots from around the greens. We will be back soon with more updates.

14:15 Hole in One hero Prayad Marksaeng eventually settled for a 70, which was good enough to leave him in T7 for the moment. He is keeping Lahiri company as they wait to see the round completed later this afternoon.

14:10 The leaderboard is beginning to fill up, slowly but surely. Chapchai Nirat and Joakim Lagergren in T3 behind Rahman (9-under) and Chowrasia (7-under through 6). Both men made 71 today and are lying 6-under through 36 holes.

1345 Paul Peterson jumped ten spots shooting a 68 in the second round, to go T5. But the biggest surge has come from the bag of Anirban Lahiri. The Indian shot up an incredible 73 spots today on the strength of 65. And to imagine it could have been so much better but for the three bogeys and at least a couple of missed birdie putts!!!!!

13:30 Siddikur Rahman is sitting pretty in the clubhouse with the day’s work done. He shot a 68 to add a nice layer of cushion for himself at the top of the pecking order. Rahman is 9-under through 36 holes, with a two shot advantage over Chowrasia. The Indian is on the fourth hole, having gained one to go 7-under.

12:45 Anirban Lahiri got off the course a very satisfied man. Six under today, could have been better if he did not find a difficult lie in the bushes on the ninth hole, where he finished off with a bogey. At 4-under he is inside the top ten and he reckons he has an outside chance now if he is solid through the weekend.

12:20 Yet another case of mixed fortunes is Joakim Lagergren, a 65 yesterday set him up nicely. But a hat-trick of bogeys from the sixth have him down at 1-over through 8 holes today.

12:15 Rashid Khan will spend the afternoon on edge. He has added a 72 to his 71 yesterday, which leaves him at 1-over through 36 holes. Not very safe, if the men in the afternoon make the birdies sing in the Sun. By the weather is just perfect here in Delhi, temperature in the mid-twenties and a mild breeze.

12:10 Chapchai Nirat will not be very pleased with his score on day two. The Thai golfer shot a rousing 65 in the first round, but failed to add to that when he signed off with an even 71 today. He is lying in second for the moment, but he knows that might not last too long into the afternoon.

Noon Jyoti Randhawa has signed on a 69. But a 74 yesterday means, he is still perched over par, just inside the top 50 at one over through 36 holes.

11.52 Dressed in a resplendent pink, Lahiri has taken the course head on today. After a disappointing 73 yesterday, the 37th ranked Indian has taken flight today, putting like a man possessed for the most part. Lahiri began on the back nine and turned in 31 shots including five birdies. Three more birdies came in the next five holes, helping him into the top five on the leaderboard.

11.50 Rahman was 9-under after making a birdie at the first hole, but a double at the fourth has slipped him down to 7-under. The cushion is down to a single stroke and the overnight lead SSP Chowrasia is on course to build on his terrific first round (65) effort.

11:41 Two men expected to do well heading into the Open are having contrasting days on the course. While  Miguel Angel Jiminez is still struggling to get control of the greens, Anirban Lahiri is finally making a big move today. The Spaniard is 2-under after giving away three shots at the third (bogey) & fourth (double) holes. The Indian though is looking supreme, having gained six shots in his 14 holes so far.

11:36 The highlight of the day so far was a hole in one by Prayad Marksaeng at the par-3 fifth hole. The veteran Thai golfer is lying T4 as he navigates the course through what is turning out to be a volatile round for him. Marksaeng has struck four birdies too but his card has been scarred by an even number of bogies, with just two left to play for him.

11: 30 We have Siddikur Rahman leading midway through the second round of the Hero Indian Open 2015. The Bangladeshi has been rock solid today, shooting four birdies and a lone bogey for a return of 3-under. Having started on the back nine, he is currently playing the par-4 4th hole.
