July 10, 2014. A rare outing for the cameras but business as usual for adventure lovers Digvijay Singh and Jyoti Randhawa. They took a small break from golfing at the Kashmir Masters to explore their stunning surroundings. From sky diving to fostering other passions, the duo love to explore their wild side, and often without fanfare. Golfingindian.com cameras joined them in their quiet trout sojourn to fish in the lovely spring fed streams of Kashmir.

The season for fishing runs from April to October. The larger rivers like Sindh, Lidder, Erin, Ferozpur, Aharbal, Doodh Ganga, which are covered with snow, which starts melting between the month of May to July. There are reportedly over 61 beats open for anglers throughout the season. Each beat about 3 – 4 km long & one can easily have a day trip fishing in any of the areas.

Kashmir is called the Anglers Paradise because the valley offers crystal-clear cold water turbulent streams, mighty springs, thick forests of pine trees, lush green meadows, and more. They say anglers from all over the world come over here every year to enjoy the thrill of angling in the snow fed streams and lakes of this valley.

Randhawa has often expressed his desire to have oneness with nature. He likes both its individualistic experience and the thrill of it. On one occasion when golfingindian.com reached out to Randhawa for an interview, we got an SMS response saying it like it is. “Am out fishing.”
