Golfers in the season of love

June 8, 2014. Love is in the air for golfers. Anirban Lahiri has just set course on a six month travel  to play around the world with his new wife Ipsa Jamwal on his side. His contemporaries are also in queue to tie the knot. Rashid Khan, also present at Lahiri’s wedding in Pune has a chosen one but isn’t ready just yet to share who. Rikard Karlberg a friend of Lahiri’s who plays on the Asian and European Tour ties the knot next February.

It was a secret summer wedding for Adam Scott and his long time girlfriend Marie Kojzar. In the same month Jimenez and girlfriend Susanna Styblo got hitched at the Miguel Angel Jimenez Golf Club in Spain.

Lahiri spent 10 waking days and nights as part of his wedding celebrations to long time ladylove Ipsa in Pune. The golfer’s wedding ceremony was a spectacular one with close friends, family and golfers. “It’s nice to have her accompany me. Off the course, it’s a lot of fun. It’s very relaxing and it keeps me fresh and motivated on the course,” he said to AsianTour. The marriage has kept him off the course for just ten days but he is happy and concedes that it was the much needed break.

One of India’s finest new talents, Rashid Khan is otherwise shy but broke silence on his personal life for the first time. In an exclusive chat with golfingindian.com said he was booked though not yet hooked. “I too have some one, but I do not think this is right time to talk much about her (smiles). The name should be revealed at an appropriate time.”

Karlberg who was excited to hear about Lahiri’s wedding sent him a message, “Congratulations and hope you will give me some tips how not to get cold feet for my wedding in February next year.”
