Vasundhara, Aadil win all-India inter school golf championship

Vasundhara Thiara and Aadil Bedi- two of the leading junior golfers from city- emerged winners in the 3rd Albatross inter school golf championship that concluded at ITC Classic Golf Club in Gurgaon.

The stage set for them was far from ideal. The conditions were wet and humid which made matters further complicated for them. However, overcoming all the obstacles and other talented golfers from various schools of India, the duo came up with stellar performances to clinch the titles.

Whereas Vasundhara, a student of Vivek High School, Sector 38, won the Category D title by a big margin of 11 strokes, Aadil was also impressive as he clinched the Category C title in the championship in which golfers from 15 school teams were taking part, including favourites like Doon School, Modern School and Mayo College.

Rambagh golf club in financial row

The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Saturday seized the bank account of Rambagh Golf Club for defaulting on payment of Rs3.7 crore urban development (UD) tax.

For the last five years, the civic body was demanding the tax amount. Finally, JMC CEO Jagroop Singh Yadav ordered to seize the account as per the Rajasthan Municipal Act.

“We had issued demand notices to the club. We had also issued notices for attachment of properties but it never paid attention to our notices. So we seized HDFC account of the club,” said Naveen Bhardwaz, the revenue officer who seized the account.
