January 22, 2014:India’s gaganjeet Bhullar is back with his good golfing talent at the second desert swing event, Commercial Bank Qatar Masters. Bhullar shot a determined five-under 67 to lie 8th on day one at the Doha Golf Club. Meanwhile, South Africa’s George Coetzee  has grabbed the club house lead with day’s best eight-under-64.

Countrymate Shiv Kapur too played a bogey free round in Doha to conclude the day with four-under 68. While, Jeev shot a round of 71 to lie low on the leaderboard.

Bhullar played brilliant golf in the  third round  of Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship last week, but could not retain his form on the final day. The 25-year-old Indian finished tied 10th at the tournament on Sunday.

Bhullar’s second-placed finish at the Euro 1.8 million Avantha Masters in February 2013 helped him secure his European Tour card.  He stunned every one, when he won Indonesian Open in December 2013. He has carried the same confidence in the new year.

Dawie van der Walt, South African pro, who won Nelson Mandela Cup in December, and England’s Steve Webster shot a round of 65 to lie tied 2 on the leaderboard on Wednesday.
