Oct 22, 2013. The boys from North Zone hogged the limelight as Ribhav Kapur took the opening day’s honours when he returned a card of 7-over 77 in the first National final of the IGU Sub-Junior Feeder Tour being played at the Par-70 Tollygung Club here on Tuesday.
Shabeg Singh Kooner and Sohum Vij were tied for the second place along with South Zone’s B Harshath with the trio being just a shot behind the leader. Siddhant Jain (North) was fifth at 79 while Gagan Vinod and Sai Venkat Chukka both from South Zone were tied for the sixth place at 81.
With the course being new to the youngsters, Ribhav took time to adjust as he was five over for the front nine. On the back nine, Ribhav had a lone birdie on the par-4 16th with a bogey and a double bogey on the 11th and 12th respectively. “The course is pretty new for me. I just played a practice round before this tournament,” said the leader. “I plan to improve upon my lead,” he added.
