July 10, 2014. This one is for history books. On Royal Aberdeen’s 436-yard, par-4 13th, McIlroy took driver off the tee — and reached the green. It was reportedly a three wood and the hole was playing downwind.
McIlroy was able to birdie the hole and shoot a seven-under 64 on the day. That’s a course record at Royal Aberdeen, according to Shane Bacon of Yahoo Sports.
