April 29, 2015: It seems Tiger Woods is intent on putting his travails behind him with a busy schedule this Summer. The 14 time major winner has announced that he is set to play a full schedule, having recovered from a sequence of injuries that stalled him for a while now. Only a few days ago, Woods revealed plans to play the Players Championship, which begins on 07 May. Earlier today, Woods added the Memorial Tournament, The Greenbrier Classic and Quicken Loans National, besides the U.S. Open and the Open Championship.

In a tweet that was posted a few years ago on his official handle, Woods announced his intentions to play a full schedule including the next two major tournaments, spreading cheer around the world of golf.

The absence of Woods from the Tour has resulted in dipping interest on the course and a drop in ratings for television coverage of the game. It is no wonder then that the world of golf is only too pleased to hear of his return to a full schedule.

Woods has been troubled by a series of injuries in the recent past. After being off the course for much of last year, he has only played three events this season, with the T17 at the Masters his most meaningful finish in recent memory.

Woods shot the worst round of his professional career, when he fired an 82 at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, where he missed the cut. He withdrew midway through the Farmers Insurance Open, apparently when his glutes refused to activate after an interruption to rain.

In the past, Woods has been always reluctant to give away his schedule. Very often he would declare his intentions just a week before a tournament. But in departing from his own practices, Woods is intent on making a statement to the Tour and his competition.

The American is currently ranked 116th in the world, with plenty of work needed to try and push himself back into the elite events on merit. Till then though, you can rest assured that every event on the planet would only be too happy to offer a slot to the greatest golfer since Jack Nicklaus.
