January 20, 2015: Tiger Woods is not one to hunt for headlines. Most often it is the headlines that go hunting the once prolific golfer. An innocuous desire to serenade his beau, Lindsay Vonn, with a surprise visit to the Skiing World Cup ended up causing Woods some needless agony. And his injury was made worse by the deluge of headlines that are taking aim at a toothless image of Tiger.

Tiger Woods FLASHES THE NORDE-GRIN crooned TMZ Sports in a post that seemed to attract many thousand hits.

The article also reminded Tiger and his fans that the golfer had a tooth missing earlier too, when his former wife Elin Nordegren threw a phone at him on that fateful night when she read steamy text messages on Tiger’s phone.

Ouch! Cameraman Uproots Tiger Wood’s Tooth reported the National Column. The article reminded readers that Woods suffered a broken tooth the same day that Vonn broke Annemarie Moser-Proell’s 35-year-old record of 62 World Cup wins. Vonn took her 63rd career victory in the World Cup super-G, in Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy on Monday.

Mystery solved: Tiger Woods’ front tooth was knocked out by a videographer tweeted the official twitter handle of Sports Illustrated – @SInow. The tweet cited a @golf.com story in which the website quoted the golfer’s agent. “During a crush of photographers at the awards podium at the World Cup event in Italy, a media member with a shoulder-mounted video camera pushed and surged toward the stage, turned and hit Tiger Woods in the mouth,” Mark Steinberg of Excel Sports said in an email. “Woods’ tooth was knocked out by the incident.”

But then the same article also quoted Nicola Colli, who seemed to contradict the statement. “I was among those who escorted him from the tent to the snowmobile and there was no such incident,” Nicola Colli, the secretary general of the race organizing committee, told The Associated Press. “When he arrived he asked for more security and we rounded up police to look after both him and Lindsey.”

Only Tiger knows for sure, perhaps that mythical videographer too.
