1. Bill Haas – the 2011 FedEx Cup winner made a fantastic start after firing four-under- 68 in the opening round of the Masters in Augusta National Golf Club. Playing his 17th round at the Masters, this was the first time he ended up in 60’s with the help of six birdies.

 

2. Louis Oosthuizen- The former British Open Champion, Oosthuizen carded three-under- 69 to lie one shot behind Haas. Ranked 35th in the Official World Golf Ranking, Englishman made six birdies against three bogeys on Thursday.

 

3. Adam Scott-Defending Champion and World No.2, Adam Scott lived up to the expectations, to share the second position after shooting a bogey free round of 69. Hoping to enhance his world rankings, the 35-time title winner made five birdies on day one.

 

4. Bubba Watson – the green jacket holder has proved he knows the course and so with a 69 in round one he has set himself up for start up action. In his bogey-less opening round, he got birdies on 3rd, 13th and 15th hole.

 

5. Jonas Blixt– He ended within top 4 in the previous year’s PGA Championship and within top 50 world rank last year; Blixt carded two-under 70 at Augusta on Thursday. He shot six birdies against four bogeys to finish tied fifth, two shots behind the leader.

 

6. K.J Choi– Three-time winner of Players Championship and best placed Asian on the Masters leaderboard, Choi scored two-under 70 with the help of three birdies against sole bogey.

 

7. Marc Leishman– In 2013 he finished within top 12 at the Masters, this time he began his chase with a round of 70 to end up jointly tied at 5th position. American made four birdies against two bogeys.

 

8. Brandt Snedeker– Ranked 20th in OWGR, Snedeker finished within top 12 at the Masters in 2013. He is positioned at fifth place after a round of 70 on day one. He made five birdies on Thursday but three bogeys put him two shots behind the front-runners.

 

9. Kevin Stadler-Winner of PGA Tour event that awards a full-point for the Tour Championship, from previous Masters to current Masters, Stadler’s first round of 70 had four birdies to his credit.

 

10. Jimmy Walker-Placed at 26th in the world rankings, Walker shares fifth place with seven others after scoring two-under 70. He made six birdies but four birdies played spoilsport to enhance his position on the leaderboard.
