Right on the heels of a momentous week for Indian golf, when three of our golfers made a major appearance for the first time ever, Tvesa Malik followed through with a measured effort at the Beroun Golf Club to secure her best finish on the Ladies European Tour since the Hero Indian Open last year. Diksha Dagar also enjoyed a decent week till a final round 79 saw her slip down the order. Tvesa finished T20 with a brilliant 69 on Sunday.

Emily Pedersen secured a four-stroke victory with a spectacular eagle on the final hole. At 17-under, the Dane ended the week ahead of Austrian Christine Wolf, who had to content herself with the second place despite a solid 67 against a 71 by the winner.

Tvesa made three birdies on the way out, making the turn in 34 strokes. She took advantage of the par-5 holes, all three of them – the second, fifth and seventh holes.

She erased a bogey on the par-4 ninth hole with an immediate birdie on the next hole. The 25-year-old coasted home on a series of eight pars, coming home on a 35 for a 5-under total for the week. Tvesa shot 70, 72 and 69 this week.

Diksha had a good start to the week, making two-under 70 in the opening round. She struggled through the second, but managed a 73, enough to steer well clear of the knife’s edge.

On Sunday, even though she made birdies at the last two holes, it was too little too late. Diksha had taken a ton of damage on her card, as double bogeys on the 3rd, 4th and 10th holes hurt her chances of a better finish.

But she did not lack in resolve or temperament. Despite taking three straight bogeys from the 14th hole, Diksha kept her head steady to secure birdies on the par-3 17th and the par-5 final hole in her 79.
