Vani set to sizzle in third leg

February 18, 2014: The winner of first two leg of the Hero Women’s Pro Golf Tour 2014, Vani Kapoor is set to sizzle at Willingdon Sports Club, Mumbai, which will play host to the third leg of tournament from Wednesday.

 

Vani Kapoor, who has been in stellar form this season, will look to stamp her authority at the WSC as she chases her third consecutive title in the tour this year. She has been by far the most consistent golfer this season and will start as a clear favourite.

 

Star Indian golfer, Sharmila Nicollet and veteran golfer Smriti Mehra, who finished runners up in the first and second legs respectively, are all set to show why they have been such a dominant force in the domestic tour since its inception.

 

Both the golfers have had a tough season so far and are determined to turn the tables here. Neha Tripathi is another golfer who will be keen to replicate her performance of the previous year, when she won the Hero Order of Merit.

 

The first two legs saw golfers struggle under harsh weather conditions, and they will look forward to a much improved performance in terms of scoring at the picturesque WSC in pleasant playing conditions.

 

Saaniya Sharma, Pallavi Jain, Vandana Agarwal, Ankita Tiwana, Preetinder Kaur, Nikki Ponappa, Meghna Bal, Vaishavi Sinha, Priya Puri, Shweta Galande and Mita Gowande will complete the field.

 

Located in the heart of the city opposite the race course and close to the Haji Ali circle the Willingdon Sports Club is one of the oldest British era clubs.

 

The Rs. 5,00,000 event is the third in the series of 14 this year.
