April 10, 2014. It’s not often that you would find these young men in the kitchen. Southern Spice took a new meaning when Anirban Lahiri, Digvijay Singh and Chikkarangappa hit the gas …a bit literally. They got behind the burners and got tossing instead of teeing up.

The golfers seemed quite in control, exploring the masalas and watching the precision cuts before they dove into the pan. Just like their golf clubs, the golfers were deft with the tongs, giving it an extra pinch of their unique style and effect.

Lahiri found it hard to keep the fish out of the cuisine. Bengali as he is, fish is his indeed his forte. But going in with the fishy business was Chikka who perfectly slit the meat, stuffed it and got it ready for a perfect pan fry. Oh these guys have us salivating don’t they? Giving cool Cochin a little Punjabi tadka was Digvijay Singh who didn’t wait a moment to dig into his fellow golfer’s preparation!

What became of all that effort, a lovely continental toss up with fish and sweet peas, some grills and a delightful Cochin day to wrap it all up.
