November 1, 2014: Some of the country’s best golfers are making their way to China for a two week sojourn that will have them compete for glory and opportunity. The 2015 Tour School Asia Pre-Qualifying starts from November 5 in Hainan. Smriti Mehra, winner in Bengaluru this week, Ankita Tiwani and Neha Tripathi are among a 78 strong field seeking to make the next level.

They shall all look to get the better of Mission Hills Hainan´s Vintage Course.

Less than a fortnight from now, the Indian golfers will camp around the Yalong Bay Golf Club for a tournament that starts on November 14. The Sanya Ladies Open, an event that is co-sanctioned by the LET, LAGT & CGA will boast of a 120 golfer field, vying for a €300,000 pot.

Besides the three women in action next week, Vani Kapoor and Saaniya Sharma shall also be in Yalong Bay for the prestigious event. Besides the five women who are already guaranteed to play, Sharmila Nicollet is on the list of reserves. Nicollet is lying 12th on the list of reserves, giving herself a slim chance of sneaking into the event.

The timing of these events and the presence of our women golfers could not have come at a better point in an ever progressing journey.

A decent showing from our golfers in China will do a world of good for their international aspirations and afford them the opportunity to compete for a regular spot on the vibrant golfing cicruits beyond our shores.
