April 17, 2015: Anirban Lahiri battled his way through to the weekend at the RBC Heritage with a patient 69 in the second round. On a day when the Harbour Town Golf Links were at their benign best, Anirban pulled off a near blemishless performance, but for an untimely bogey at the 4th hole. This is the first time that Anirban has made a cut on the PGA Tour, with the WGC Cadillac allowing a full week to everyone entered into the event.

Starting at the 10th hole, Anirban played a solid nine holes, making two birdies along the way to work his way back into the tournament. After a disappointing 73 in the first round, it was exactly what the doctor ordered for the Indian.

The first birdie of his round came at the par-4 eleventh hole. Anirban sank his putt from nearly 15 feet from the pin to gain a shot. After 5 straight pars, Anirban made a perfect tee shot across the waters at the 17th hole to set up his second birdie of the day.

At the par-5 second hole – Anirban landed to the left of the fairway under the trees. He used an iron from there, only to find that he hooked left again into the rough. The third shot was pitched to perfection, stalling just on the edge of the cup to set up another birdie and carry the Indian below par.

But misery came upon Lahiri, when he sailed into the dirt on the 4th hole, forcing a penalty to take a drop in the rough to the right of the fairway. Three more shots from there meant that Anirban gave away a double bogey to fall back into cut territory.

The world No.35 is a resolute golfer though and playing sensibly at the very next hole, earned the birdie he needed to get even with the course and seal his spot for the weekend.

In the third round on Saturday, Anirban will have to start working his way back up the ladder from T67.
