September 26, 2013. Indian Golf Union approved, The Champions Junior Golf TourIndia (CJGT) will be holding its 32nd tournament on September 28.
“The CJIT introduces kids to newer formats of the game that helps them develop interest in the game,” Romit Bose, founder and tour director of CJGT said.
The team events will be played in three formats. The 18-hole team event will have two members per team with two prizes to be won based on gross better ball stroke play and foursome. The 9 hole individual event will have three prizes for gross stroke play and lastly, Most Unique Team Name will win a prize for choosing apt and unique name for its team.
The CJGT Team Challenge will be held at Karma Lakelands on 28 September 2013.
The three categories of junior team will include children aged 5 years to 17 years competing in various events. The events will be held in both boys and girls categories .Those who are 18 and above can participate in College team challenge.
Taylormade, Adidas Golf &Ashworth and Coca Cola are sponsors for the tournament. CJGT has engaged Blue golf Tournament Management systems to manage its tournaments, clinics and other activities.
Romit Bose Golf Academy has made commendable efforts in nurturing young golfing talents in the country. Monthly held CJGT competitive events are a step in this direction.
