May 4, 2014: India’s Rahil Gangjee finished tied 4th at The Championship in Laguna National Golf and Country Club, where Felipe Aguilar of Chile produced a stunning 2-2 finish as he came home in 28 shots to snatch The title from Anders Hansen.
The Chilean sunk a ten foot birdie putt at the daunting par three 17th then holed his approach for eagle at the last as a closing 62 saw him finish on 22 under par in Singapore.
Hansen spent much of the day on course for a first European Tour win in five years, but after failing to get up-and-down from sand at the 16th the Dane required a birdie from the last two holes and could not find one.
Rahil shot a stunning seven under 65 to end up three shots behind the leader Felipe. Anirban Lahiri carded an improved card of six-under 68 to finish at sixth position at The Championship. Seasoned SSP Chowrasia too signed off solid final round with five under 67 to end up at 11th place on the leaderboard. Chirag Kumar and Jeev Milkha singh finished 64th on Sunday.
