November 7, 2013.Tapendra Ghai made a splendid start as he assumed the lead, although a solitary stroke at the end of the opening round of the East India Junior Golf Championship being played at the testing par-72 RCGC course here on Wednesday.

 

Tapendra shot a level par 72 to be ahead of the tied second placed of Raghubir Choudhary, Feroz Singh Garewal.

 

Karandeep Kochhar emerged as the leader in Category B with a 77 while Udayjit Bhalotia and Saptak Talwar shared the second spot at 78. Sarthak Chhibber and Karan Sharma were tied fourth at 80 while Arjun Prasad was sixth just a stroke behind.
